Adam talks with British comedian, actor and writer Jayde Adams.

As you’ll hear Jayde began her performing career on a sad note following the death of her older sister Jenna in 2011. That encouraged Jayde to leave her native Bristol and start doing comedy, often in London drag clubs like Sink The Pink, Jonny Woo’s Unroyal Variety, The Glory and The Vauxhall Tavern.

Just three years later she won the 2014 Funny Women Award and in 2016 was a nominee at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. She’s in Edinburgh again this year with her third show, an homage to Bette Midler entitled 'The Divine Ms Jayde’ (Pleasance Courtyard, 9.30pm, August).

Adam & Jayde recorded their conversation in February 2018.

WARNING! The conversation includes frank discussions of a sexual nature and there’s also some dead rat chat.

*Switches to first person* You can vote for me at webbyawards.com. Click on the Categories tab on the front page and navigate to Podcast & Digital Audio then click the tab that says General and I’m in Interview/Talk Show. It’s not very easy to find the relevant page and it’s very unlikely that I’m going to win (Alec Baldwin and Oprah are also in my category), so if you can’t be bothered, I’ll understand.

Thanks to Seamus Murphy Mitchell for production support.

Dear Dr Buckles MD,
I realise the days of made up jokes have past HOWEVER, I have spent the last year or so building up my repertoire and I have a few I am very proud of that do not get the recognition they deserve, EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE AMAZING. Anyway, here's a couple you might like:
What do two native Americans have to do when one loses their house key?... Cherokee (share-a-key).
What do you call a tiger that works in a law firm?... Legal Claws.
Thanks for the fantastic pods. Love you lots, bye.

You are going to win that Webby! I consulted my tarot art history cards and it was confirmed. Oh and the fact I voted for you. Good luck, I await my Rosie the Dog/Jennifer Lawrence selfie.

Hearing Jayde talk about sneaking off to her room to watch Eurotrash reminded me of how I watched The Adam and Joe Show. Jayde became more comfortable with sex, but I’m happy to report I can reenact blockbuster movies with my sons’ toys.

A note about Comments

Hello Podcats and Blog friends,

I wanted to let you know that comments have been disabled on the blog and the app for the time being. This is not because of anyone posting anything abusive or anything like that, but just because I seldom get round to moderating the stuff that comes in as promptly as I should, and rather than irritate people who don’t understand why their comment hasn’t been posted, I think it’s easier if I just switch them off. Sorry about that, but time is scarce and I’m disappointed to discover I can’t do everything! And if you’re one of the people who submitted a comment and it hasn’t been posted - sincere apologies.

Best wishes
