Adam talks with British stand up comedian, actor and radio host Nish Kumar about football, communal baths, India, comedy, angry political exchanges and towards the end we take a deep dive into some of the music Nish has loved over the years, including Bob Dylan, Prince and the highs and lows of being a Bowie fan. Speaking of Zavid, there’s a very special musical treat at the end of our conversation for Nish and Bowie fans alike, depending that is, on your definition of the words ‘special’, ‘musical’, and ‘treat’.

GUIDE TO KERALA AND SOUTH INDIA
ROMESH AND NISH
I'm listening to your new shows and old ones to get me through my long days in the studio. I feel like a toddler being picked up and rocked gently. Thank you for keeping me tantrum free.
On Wednesday evening after a long day at work, I finally got out of the office and back to my car in the car park. It was dark and cold and grisly.
When I started the engine up, my car's audio system automatically connected to my phone and resumed playing this podcast which I had started at 7am that morning on my way to work. It had just started the "I just bumped into you" jingle bit. THIS IS NOT A LIE. I know it sounds like a lie, but I promise you, this is exactly what happened. As I reversed out of my parking space... that's right. I hit the car next to me.
Luckily my colleague, whose car I hit, was actually quite nice about it, unlike the character in the jingle.
However, on the off-chance that you have some kind of special powers, I was hoping that next time you would consider writing a jingle about me having amazing sex with the man of my dreams?
Thank you ever so much and Merry Christmas.
This was very funny and I enjoyed it alot! Thanks Adam (love you, byeeeeee)
Absolutely love your podcasts. Have only recently discovered the Adam and Joe ones. My favs are the ones when you are chatting with your friends but would love to hear more of Kathy Burke. Thank you
Man, you should not have cut off that sing-a-long! Quality is not the issue (though you both sounded great). After years of sharing your Bowie-love and Bowie-grief, hearing you let rip with Nish Kumar was joyful. And you shut it off just at the point where all rusty-tonsiled armchair-singers like me were about hurl ourselves up and go full Dana
-Carvey-in-Wayne's World nuts.
This is not a complaint. It was a great podcast and no one else can jump between politics, race, the comedy scene and relationships so deftly and lightly without trivialising anything. Just believe me when I say we'd love to hear you unabashedly rock out to top that shit off!!
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Looking forward to hearing from you and Joe.
A note about Comments
Hello Podcats and Blog friends,
I wanted to let you know that comments have been disabled on the blog and the app for the time being. This is not because of anyone posting anything abusive or anything like that, but just because I seldom get round to moderating the stuff that comes in as promptly as I should, and rather than irritate people who don’t understand why their comment hasn’t been posted, I think it’s easier if I just switch them off. Sorry about that, but time is scarce and I’m disappointed to discover I can’t do everything! And if you’re one of the people who submitted a comment and it hasn’t been posted - sincere apologies.
